Artistic Bio

Claire Norman (she/her) is a dancer and choreographer with a multifaceted artistic identity. Originally from northern Virginia, she started dancing, singing, and acting at the age of 4, performing in community theater and training at a competitive dance studio. She grew up working with choreographers such as Marinda Davis, Molly Long, Emily Brown, Amanda Rambler, Justin Lewis, Jason Holley, and Gloria Hampton. Being immersed in styles of tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and musical theater led her to develop a passion for choreographing from a young age. She joined the faculty at Studio Bleu Dance Center at 16 years old and became an assistant to Amanda Rambler, touring to dance studios in the DMV for advanced technique, jazz, and contemporary classes. She is currently an undergraduate student at Emerson College, where she is pursuing a degree in Business of Creative Enterprises with a minor in Dance, hoping to become a versatile professional in all areas of the creative world. During her time on the Boston campus, she choreographed, danced, and directed Emerson Urban Dance Theater and Emerson Dance Company, broadening her scope of dance into street jazz and hip hop. She also worked as a teaching assistant to Kristen Lowery for Emerson’s Int/Adv Jazz Technique course for two semesters, and was on faculty at Jamie Campbell’s Dance Company and The Gold School. Most recently, Claire trains at Boston Dance Studios in the Pre-Professional Program, and with Marinda Davis’ Storytellers Intensives in Los Angeles and New York. Beyond her extensive performance background, she expands her knowledge into creative direction, production, video editing, choreography, marketing, and talent management.
